In 2010, when Trinity Academy opened in Calderdale, the ambition was to create a school that was a beacon of best practice. Since then the academy has been rated as ‘outstanding’ three times.
In 2015 the Trinity MAT was established. It now contains one sixth form, six secondary and four primary academies.
The ethos of Trinity MAT is simple – to make a positive difference to the lives of as many young people as possible.
The Trust is open to schools of all faiths and none, all educational phases and all Ofsted judgements. It exists to serve the students in its care, and has a small number of core principles:
We are committed to working within a respectful and compassionate environment. We are led by our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, which are often described as our DNA. Our mission is to make a difference to the communities we serve, and we achieve that by inspiring every student to fulfil his/her potential. We develop character and strong moral values in our students, allowing them to make a notable, positive contribution to society.

The Trust's annual Impact Report helps highlight the opportunities and strengths PALT academies would be able to access.
A particular milestone was reached at Trinity Academy Whitehill, which was judged “Good” with Ofsted and celebrated record SATs outcomes.
In addition, the Trust was awarded the prestigious Fair Schools Admissions Gold Award from The Sutton Trust for a second consecutive year, a distinction few schools or trusts across the country have achieved.
The Award recognises the efforts the Trust makes to ensure that all children, regardless of socio-economic background, have access to a high-quality education. It highlights that their approach guarantees that local children are given the fairest possible access to education, levelling the playing field and offering equal opportunities for every child to thrive.
